New arrivals

Well it's been a busy week in the Pro Shop taking deliveries of all the new winter clothing lines including delivery of the new Titleist TruFeel Golf Ball.
I think in the words from the movie JAWS when they said ‘I think we need a bigger boat’ - I am thinking I think I need a bigger shop with this stock (ha ha).
Please pop in the shop and come a s see the new lines we have taken delivery of I am especially pleased with the FootJoy Lined Sweaters that will keep you nice and warm this winter.

ongratulations must go to Ross King who you all know from the Pro Shop - Well when Ross Started here he was playing off 6 hcp and in the 3 months together he has worked extremely hard and got his hcp down low enough to join the Professional Golfers Association. I am so very proud of Ross and he is a fantastic asset not only to me but Whitefield G.C. Ross now will undertake 3 years PGA training and wants to be a Golf Instructor.

Also we have a new part time member of staff during the week and I am sure everybody will welcome Lois into the Whitefield Family.

Tip of the week

You will all be glad to know that this week’s Golf Tip does not involve me in a wetsuit and flippers but I will give you some advice on what to be thinking about when playing any shot on the course.

The next time you play I want you to pick out a target that you want to hit the ball to and focus solely on the target allowing your body and swing to relax and just take over (Hence no swing thoughts).

I say this as swing thoughts and drills need to be kept to the practice area. My old boss used to say TRAIN IT THEN TRUST IT.

So back to the focus, pick out your target and then trust your swing and body to react to the situation and target. If you have ever read a book by Harvey Penick (Little Red Golf Book) then he will describe this as ‘taking dead aim’.

Try it and you will be surprised at your results.

Don't forget you can always pop in the shop for a chat and we can always book you in for a lesson or swing MOT.
